Stay on Track During the Holidays

Holiday Meals
  • Set REALISTIC expectations and plan ahead! Progress and consistency vs. perfection! Prioritize your routines that you have established. Make a holiday calendar that includes your social schedule to implement the time you need to get into the gym or do a home workout, meal prep and plan, etc.! Try to avoid overextending yourself and make sure you carve out time even if it is half of the time you normally have - something is better than nothing!

  • Practice mindfulness! Take time each day for stillness and mindfulness. Journal, walk, yoga, epsom salt baths, sauna, etc. Breath-work is essential during the holidays to calm the nervous system and the hustle and bustle you are experiencing at this time.

  • Move your body daily. It is easy to get out of our fitness or exercise routines as our holiday schedule starts to fill. Remember how great you feel when you are done with your daily movement? Schedule every day to get some movement in. This helps with stress, energy, digestion and appetite control.

  • Prioritize your nutrition. Keep your digestion, waistline and goals in check by focusing on how you can implement fiber, protein, water and produce at each meal. During the holidays it is easy to say we can derail and get back on track in January. Instead of totally giving up meal prep and plan like normal and at actual holiday meals fill your plate with the good and carve out a small side plate for some tasty bites! It’s not about restriction it is about ADDING in more of the good :)
