· Always start with a freshly cleansed face using either wipes or a gentle face cleanser
· Follow with skincare of choice
o Serums
o Oils
o Moisturizer
o Sunscreen
o Eye Cream
· If you have oily or dry skin a face primer is helpful – this allows the makeup to have something to stick to
o There are primers specially made for different skin types and textures and discoloration
· Create a flawless canvas to work with by applying a foundation, BB cream, tinted sunscreen or powder to start
o It is helpful to apply all over the face using a brush or a damp sponge
o If you need extra coverage you can use a concealer over blemishes, scars, discoloration, etc. over top of the foundation – use your ring finger to layer the concealer – a tapping motion to build coverage and blend well
· You can use a powder to “set” your makeup to keep it in place, control shine or give extra coverage
o Use a big fluffy brush to dust product throughout the face
· Bronzer is a nice way to add dimension and color onto skin
o Apply on high points of the face: Forehead, nose, cheeks, chin, neck and chest
· Highlighter – inner corners of eyes, brow bone, top of cheek bone, collar bone
· Blush – apples of cheeks
· Eyeshadow
o A neutral color all over eye with a big fluffy brush
o Darker colors go in the outer corner – form a triangle using a denser brush
o Inner corner is going to be the lightest color
o Use a medium color down the middle to blend all the colors together
· Eyeliner
o Pencil
§ Using a waterproof gel pencil you can rim your upper and lower lash line for a nice pop, but remain subtle
§ Add the gel liner on top of the lashes using short small motions to blend the liner into the lashes and smudge with a brush to blend the liner well
o For a very natural look you can use an angled liner brush with a darker eye shadow and layer the product over lash line
· Mascara
o Wiggle at lash line top and bottom
o Swooping motion on top to pull and extend lashes
· Brows
o A very quick and easy and natural brow is accomplished with a brow gel
§ Brush hairs upwards for a fluffy brow
· Lips
o Lipstick, gloss, or stain are all good options – all based on preference
