Life in the PRESENT MOMENT
Pure presence: how we master our minds and serve our souls. When we work on being more present - living in the moment - we can feel more connections in our body, mind, and soul. Life is busy, constant chaos, events, work, etc. It can feel almost impossible to live in the present moment. We tend to run on autopilot day after day. When we focus on being present we can focus our attention on our experiences in the moment. Instead of worrying about future events or obligations or reflect on the past we can reprogram our focus on the here and now with strategies.
Here are some tips to help create awareness in the present moment:
Check in with yourself - tune into your senses: What do you see, smell, feel, hear, and taste? Take a deep breath and reflect.
Consciously breathe - Deep belly breaths, breath slowly through your nose and out through your nose. Slow the mind down by focusing on something you are thankful for. JUST BE with no tech, sound, perhaps as little distractions as possible (even if it is just a few minutes!)
Get outside - get outside and walk, look around you, observe the setting and take in a deep breath to cultivate grounding and nurturing energy; bring your attention and focus inward.
Slow down - pay attention to how much you are trying to multi-task. Try focusing on 1 important thing at a time can help decrease stress and improve the quality of the things you are doing. Rushing around, multi-tasking can feel productive in the moment - but this can increase stress and decrease the overall quality of what you are actually trying to accomplish.
Yoga - there are many forms of yoga! It can be incredibly fun to try finding a form, studio, community that you are inspired by and connect to! Yoga can improve your connection to self - help with connection to breath, body, soul and becoming more present in the moment.
